At the age of 21, I embarked on an extraordinary journey of faith when I came to know the Lord. What followed was a calling into ministry that ignited a passion for service and transformation. However, as I stood in the pulpit, I carried a hidden burden—a dark secret that loomed heavily over my spirit: my beloved wife was grappling with an addiction to pain medication. 

During those challenging years, feelings of shame and defeat clouded my heart. I often felt less than, believing that God was aiding everyone else while I was left alone in my struggles. From serving in men’s ministry to leading children’s programs, I took on various roles, yet the weight of my wife’s battle left me searching for answers. In a moment of despair, I stepped away from the ministry and distanced myself from God, feeling abandoned and lost amidst the chaos.

For two long years, I fought the battle alongside my wife, feeling trapped in a cycle of pain and hopelessness until a dear friend suggested I see a Christian counselor. It was there that I discovered the depths of my codependency and how profoundly it affected my life, relationships, and my understanding of God’s love. This revelation ignited a spark of hope. I began a healing journey that led me to rediscover who I truly am in Christ.

As I surrendered my burdens and allowed God to transform my life, I embraced a powerful new identity. Now, 12 years later, I’m back in ministry—not just to guide others, but to help transform lives through my own experiences. I founded Walk Right Ministries, where we offer a 12 Step Recovery Community centered on our identity in Christ. Our initiatives include an impactful podcast, “Recovery In Identity” aimed at providing hope and inspiration.

I also engage in speaking engagements that motivate and uplift those who feel diminished by past traumas. My story is one of overcoming abandonment, living with a distant alcoholic father, and healing from childhood molestation. My mission now is to reveal how God’s transformative power can lead us to victory when we surrender our hidden traumas and allow Him to work in our lives.
